There is now less than a week left for Manchester United to resume their Premier League campaign.
After the current international break ends, the Reds will travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford on Saturday, looking to take the first step on the road to recovery after last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.
But before that, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to get through the remainder of this international break without losing more players through injury and amid rumors of interest in Zinedine Zidane.
Midfielder Paul Pogba and Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani have been injured recently, while Luke Shaw, currently with the England national team, was unable to play against Albania on Friday night after suffering a head injury in last Saturday’s Manchester derby.
So, Solskjaer will no doubt be keeping a close eye on Portugal’s all-winning 2022 World Cup qualifier against Serbia this evening, when Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo are likely to be involved. The trio began a goalless draw with the Republic of Ireland on Thursday evening in Dublin.
Elsewhere, Victor Lindelof is also likely to feature tonight in Sweden’s clash with Spain in what will be another crucial match in the quest to qualify for next year’s tournament in Qatar.
