Toni Kroos is expected to end his career at Real Madrid, according to his agent – with the midfielder himself taking to social media to give his opinion on the matter.
It is a blow for Newcastle and Liverpool who have been linked with the transfer of the 31-year-old World Cup winner.
Newcastle’s new wealthy were reportedly targeting the midfielder as the man who kicked off their quest for titles.
But Kroes’ agent, Volker Struth, told Sport 1 journalist Florian PlettenbergI think Tony will end his career at Real Madrid.
“He never told me on the phone that he wanted to leave. He and his family are very happy in Madrid.”
And Kroos himself retweet Plettenberg, commented on his message: “NEWS”, in quotes along with a sleeping emoji.
Magpies have previously been linked with a £25.3m move for the veteran midfielder.
Liverpool were also rumored to be eyeing a Kroos deal, with Jurgen Klopp eyeing a revamped midfield.

Although the three-time Champions League winner revealed in the summer that he intends to retire when his contract with Real Madrid expires in 2023.
Kroos joined Los Blancos from Bayern Munich in 2014 and played 327 games for the Bernabeu.
He said in July: “I think 2023 is a good year [to retire]I will be thirty-three years old.
“I will decide whether to renew for a season or two, that is still open to discussion, but I am absolutely sure that I will retire at Real Madrid.”
These plans do not appear to have changed despite Prem’s interest.
