Real Madrid plan to offload FOUR top-earners including Hazard to land Chelsea star Rudiger in £200k-a-week free transfer

Real Madrid are preparing to release four-star players as they look to sign Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger at the end of the season.

Carlo Ancelotti has relied on David Alaba and Eder Militao as his first choice in central defense for most of the 2021-22 season so far.

But he is still keen to consolidate in this area of his squad and has identified the strong German Chelsea player as a potential target.

Rudiger’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer.

This means he is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club as early as January.

And according to AS, Real Madrid could be in a position to give him a deal worth £200,000-a-week due to the lack of a transfer fee.

They also expect to convert some huge wage earners from their books at the end of the campaign.

These include Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Isco who will all become free agents in the summer.

Eden Hazard, who has a contract until 2024, could be on his way out having scored just five goals in 53 appearances since arriving from Chelsea in 2019.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this month that Chelsea are continuing to try to negotiate a new contract with Rudiger.

He said: “Chelsea are still negotiating a new contract with the agents of Tony Rudiger.

“Talks are ongoing – there is currently no agreement on the salary but it is not over because Rudiger is very happy with Chelsea and Tuchel.”

Rudiger was fantastic under Thomas Tuchel in the second half of last season, and was instrumental in his Champions League victory.

But it looks like the Blues may already be preparing for life without him after Trevoh Chalobah’s new contract was announced on Thursday.

The 22-year-old has committed to his future with Chelsea by signing a new four-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2026.
