La Liga denounces racist abuse aimed at Vinicius during El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid

The Spanish Football League has published an advertisement denouncing the racist insults by a Barcelona fan against Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior during the Clasico match on Sunday.

Here is the league statement:
“Given the events that took place during Sunday’s Camp Nou match, in which a Real Madrid fan made racist insults to Vinicius Jr., LaLiga will continue to report these events to the Barcelona Public Prosecutor’s Office.”

The Spanish competition did the same when Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams was subjected to racist abuse during an away match against Espanyol.

There is video evidence of the fan’s insult to Vinicius Jr. late in the second half, with Spanish TV show El Dia Despues as well as Deportes Cuatro showing the clip on Monday.

In its official announcement, the association added that it would cooperate on the issue with local authorities in an effort to combat racism.
