Sergio Ramos has yet to feature for PSG this season. The veteran Spanish defender has been sidelined with a calf injury he sustained before the team’s opening game of the Ligue 1 season.
Dani Carvajal appeared alongside Ramos in several key matches during their time together at Real Madrid. The veteran Spanish full-back believes that even amid Ramos’ recent injury problems, there should be no questions about his professionalism, which he touched upon during a press conference (via Marker) before Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League group stage match against Shakhtar Donetsk.
“I can get a little familiar with what’s going on,” Carvajal said. “He’s the one who wants to be there as soon as possible, the first. I find it hard to believe what is being said. You can’t doubt his professionalism. I don’t think PSG would do anything like terminate his contract. I welcome him with open arms here and in my home.”
PSG indicated on Tuesday that the Spanish centre-back had been taking part in individual training sessions recently. The club has yet to provide a timetable on when he could make his Ligue 1 debut this season.
Paris Saint-Germain is scheduled to face RB Leipzig in the German Football League on Wednesday in the group stage of the Champions League.
